Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: 19 June 2026
This page explains how users of the Isha Women's Hospital app can request deletion of their account and associated personal data, in line with Google Play's data-deletion requirements and applicable data-protection laws.
1. How to request deletion
You can request deletion of your account and personal data in either of the following ways:
- In the App: go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account and follow the prompts to confirm your request.
- By email: send a request from your registered email address to ishawomenshospital@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Please include the name and registered phone number / email on the account so we can verify your identity.
2. What gets deleted
Once your request is verified and processed, we delete or anonymise the personal data associated with your account, including:
- your account profile (name, phone, email, address, date of birth);
- your login credentials;
- your saved appointment preferences and app activity; and
- push-notification tokens and device identifiers linked to your account.
3. What may be retained, and why
Certain information may be retained even after account deletion where we are legally required or permitted to keep it. This typically includes:
| Type of data | Reason & retention period |
|---|---|
| Medical / treatment records created during your care | Retained for the period required under applicable medical record-keeping laws and regulations (including, for certain fertility / assisted-reproduction records, extended periods under the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021 and related rules). |
| Billing / payment and tax records | Retained as required by applicable financial and tax laws. |
| Records needed to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes | Retained for as long as legally necessary, then securely deleted. |
Retained records are kept securely and are not used for any purpose other than the legal or medical purpose for which they are held. Where possible, retained data is de-identified.
4. Timeline
We process verified deletion requests within 30 days. We may contact you to confirm your identity before acting on a request. Once deletion is complete, you will lose access to your account and its data, and this action cannot be undone.
